HTML Help: CSS Comment
I know how to make comments in HTML, but can you make comments in external style sheets? You bet, but CSS comments are coded in a different way, after all, they wouldn't want to keep things as easy as possible by being consistent! ;)
<!-- This is an HTML comment. --> /* This is a style sheet comment. */The text between the asterisks is commented out. The asterisks should be inside forward slashes. There should be a space before and after the comment.
Do that and it should be okay. I say "should" instead of "will" because if I say it will be okay, sure enough some noodnik using an oddball browser that only 3 people in the whole world use will write to tell me the CSS comment blew up their microwave oven.
Having said all that, have you thought about keeping a second file where you make your comments rather than inserting a lot of explanations into your HTML code and style sheets? It will help keep your pages leaner, cleaner and perhaps marginally faster for users on dial up connections.
This concludes the
HTML Help about CSS Comments.
