Left Border Screen
The buttons across the top...
- The Preview button at the top shows your creation tiled as a left border background across your desktop, with a variety of colored text samples. Just click your mouse anywhere on the desktop to return to the main screen.
- The Page Color button opens a color utility that lets you choose the color for the main page area.
- The Get Color button opens an eyedropper tool for you to pick a color from the border pattern itself that will be used in the main page area.
- The Wallpaper button sets the current image as your desktop wallpaper.
- The Remove button removes the shadow from the border. When the Border Maker opens, the button reads Shadow. Clicking the shadow button adds the shadow to the border as you see in the screen shot and changes the Shadow button to the Remove button.
- The Set Shadow Width slider lets you control how wide the border shadow will be.
- The Save button saves the current image.
- The Done button closes the Border Maker window.
The other program elements...
-
The "Use lightened tile image" checkbox uses a "washed out" version of the pattern in the main area rather than a solid color, as I've shown being used in the screen shot. The washed out look is necessary for text to be easy to read if you choose not to go with a solid color.
- The "Set left border width" slider at the bottom lets you control the width of the left border pattern.
