HTML Help: Edit Source Code in Firefox

Firefox doesn't allow me to edit source code by by right-clicking to view the source. I like the browser but IE lets me edit my source code when viewing my site on my hard drive, and that's too handy to give up. Is there any way to make Firefox open the source code in Notepad?

I like to open the source code from my browser to edit pages too, it's quicker and easier than using a separate program or opening Notepad through the Start menu.

While Internet Explorer automatically let's you do it, you need an Add-on to do it with Firefox. Add-ons are basically browser extensions that give the browser more capabilities. Go to the add-on home page and search for Dafizilla ViewSourceWith. There may be other add-ons that do the same thing if you want to browser them.

You don't have to stick with just one browser, you know. You can surf with one and design with another. We really should be checking our web sites in IE and Firefox anyway to make sure the sites look good and work properly in the big two. It wouldn't hurt to check them in Opera and Safari as well.

The rest are mainly clones and so few in number it isn't really time-effective to check our sites with any other browsers. Even the latest version of Netscape uses the Firefox rendering engine or the Internet Explorer rendering engine, whichever you select from the menu.
