HTML Dfn Tag Tutorial

The dfn tag (definition) is used to provide a definition for words you use that may not be familiar to your audience.

By adding a title attribute and value to the dfn tag, a tool tip will pop up with your definition enclosed.

Here's an example of usage:

I used badigeon to repair the masonary.

Rest your cursor on the word "badigeon" in the previous paragraph to see this tag in action.

Here's how that was coded:

<dfn title="mixture of plaster and ground stone">badigeon</dfn>
