The HTML sup tag allows you to place superscripted text on your web page.

What is superscripted text?

It's scripted text that is just super! Okay, just kidding . . . sort of.

Superscript is where text is placed higher than the text baseline. The most common use of this online (that I've seen) is with numerical positions, such as 1^st, 2^nd, 3^rd and so forth—or maybe I should say, and so 4^th. Your smile is SUPER!

Here's how to code superscript text:
